Does your child love to act, sing, move and perform? Musical Theatre sessions will enable your child to meet with other children from the local area and develop their skills in a safe, welcoming and supportive environment. Children develop confidence and self esteem as they learn singing, vocal exercises and diction, acting, gesture and dramatic movement.

The children follow a graded syllabus and learn progressive skills that are examined by the International Dance Teacher’s Association. As they progress they learn about the theory, technical elements of theatre and performance as well as taking part in group pieces of drama. As part of their study, children will explore different musicals and learn about the themes of them – considering how the songs help to tell the stories. The use of props, improvisation, team building and physical theatre movement is also covered.

All children will have the opportunity to perform at Melton Theatre – an exciting element that allows them to put into practice what they have learned for a live audience. Recent shows include: The Little Mermaid and Aladdin.

Why not come along and try our Bright Sparks Musical Theatre sessions and see what we can offer?
